Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe, a British-Nigerian mixed race child, was born to a family in South London. The father of her is Nigerian as well as Swiss as well as her mother is English. She was born on a south London council estate, and when she was 14she enrolled in The Brit School. In London, she studied at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where her acting degree was awarded. As a student at the academy, she appeared in numerous stage productions including King Henry V as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe got her start in acting by starring in a movie titled Storm Damage. She has since made appearances on Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's breakout came with 2007's Woody Allen film Cassandra's Dream. It was co-starring Colin Farrell (who played the role of Cassandra) and Ewan McGrath. After that she was cast as Elisha in the one-off BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN, and appeared in the six episodes of Trexx as well as Flipside as Ollie. She also was offered the role of Bambi in the ITV2 drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl which aired in three and two series. Madekwe also appeared on the comedic How to Lose Friends and Alienate people (2008). She has performed in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path, by David Watson.
Madekwe had her official US debut on the drama The Beautiful Life, which just aired two episodes in the US on The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport, a character on ABC's Revenge drama series was cast for her as Ashley Davenport. Following her appearance as a regular on the first two seasons it was announced in May 2013 that Madekwe was set to quit the show following an appearance as a guest in the first episode of the third season. Madekwe starred as Tituba on the show Salem from 2014 until 2016. Madekwe married her long-time love, Iddo. Apart from Secret Diary of a Call Girl They have also collaborated together on Salem and Iddo Goldberg had a part alongside her in that show.
Ashley Leggat, an actress that was nominated two times for a Gemini Award, is a member of the large Hamilton family. Ashley Leggat joined Roy and Patty as well her older siblings: Brett, Todd and Bram as well as Rob. Ashley's four brothers, all very active, took part in hockey during the winter months and played baseball in the summers, meaning that she grew up playing in arenas and baseball parks. Ashley did not walk; instead, she was a dancer. In the age of two and half she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley developed a passion for dancing shortly after she joined Baby Ballet. When she was in the high school she attended, Ashley danced competitively in the top divisions in ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, acrobatics, lyrical, musical theatre and hip hop. Top soloists at big competitions, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more were awarded to Ashley.
